After The Darkness

It's been a long winter… isn't it always a long winter?

The feeling of darkness hasn't lifted, but our spirits are provoked with the first signs of spring… we crave the sun and we search for new colour in our surroundings. We know that there will still be plenty of rain to come, but there is a promise of warmth in the air… and that's enough.

This painting, while still fairly dark, has for me the feeling of hope and a certain resolve; acceptance.
